Although rare, registration issues crop up from time to time. This topic will help you when it comes to troubleshooting registration issues.
Here are some of the more common issues:
Social Network Login Redirection Failures
Typically, this type of failure is caused by cookie restrictions or outdated cached files in your web browser.
Possible solutions are to clear your cache, make sure cookies are allowed, confirm you’re logged into the social network account you’re attempting to use, and even trying a different web browser to rule out your current browser, or one of its extensions as the cause.
Email Confirmation Issues
The most common email confirmation issue is not receiving the confirmation email to begin with. This is typically caused by one of two potential culprits.
The first is that the message was redirected by your SPAM filter solution. Usually, this simply places the message in a holding queue/quarantine or a spam/junk mail folder.
The fix for this is to look for the message in these locations and take the necessary steps to release the message from quarantine (if applicable) or move it to a folder where you can click on the verification link.
The second is that you (or your social media account) used an invalid email address. The only way to correct this issue is to sign up again using accurate information. You can either update your email in the social media platform or sign up manually on the Angel Powwow website.
If you’ve taken the above steps and still don’t find the confirmation message, you can log into AngelPowwow.com, navigate to the Restricted Content page, and then use the “Click here to re-send the verification email.” link to send the confirmation email again. Please note, this will only be shown if you’re logged in with your account. If you go directly to the Restricted Content page without logging in, the information displayed will be different.
Website Access Restrictions/Insufficient Rights
On occasion, the social network registration process doesn’t return you to the correct page to complete the registration process. In such cases, you’ll end up on the Restricted Content page when you log in.
Click on the “click here” link under the Incomplete Social Registration section of the Restricted Content page to be taken to the correct page where you can complete the registration process.
If you have access to some areas but not all, your membership level may not have the appropriate rights to the information you’re trying to access. The Basic membership has limited rights.
You might want to consider upgrading to the Monthly Angel or Annual Angel membership level. If you’d like to upgrade your account, follow the “Upgrade or change your membership” link on the Restricted Content page.
Page Not Found Notifications
There’s a random bug that I’m currently hunting down. It doesn’t happen often but, every now and then, you may encounter a 404, Page Not Found error. When it happens, it affects all pages (not posts or forums). In such cases, please contact me so I can correct the issue ASAP.
